The Falcon stocks a varied range of real ales from all around the UK (6 at any time), and we aim to try as many as possible. There are certain local brewers that we can’t keep away from and feature fairly regularly on our bar.
After a complete refurbishment and reopening in December 2014, The Falcon Tap became focussed on top quality, local real ales and craft beers. The building has been host to many iterations of "The Falcon" and is now true to the history of the site as a proper pub. The layout is open and modern, featuring original tiled walls, open brickwork, and Edison caged lightbulbs throughout. The combination of modern design and original Victorian features complement each other and make this pub stand out from the crowd. The front room overlooks Micklegate, one of York's historical entry points.
The Falcon Tap also boasts a spacious beer garden with comfortable seating, outdoor music, and all day sunshine (If we are ever so fortunate). As well as this, the beer garden has an upstairs heated terrace with large communal tables and shelter from the elements! In March 2015, we launched a function room which we call the Bunker. What used to be wasted storage space is now a large open room which features a fantastic sound systemand can be hired out for your event.
What we are most proud of at The Falcon Tap is the drinks. We go to great lengths to ensure there are always great local ales constantly rotating so you (and we!) can try as many beers as possible. We always have 6 guest cask ales and 3 rotating craft keg lines. As well as this, we stock an ever growing range of bottled beers. Our wines and spirits are also of top quality. With 12 wines, and a huge choice of whisky, gin, rum and much more.
